BMHS Youth Clinic 2006

The BMHS Youth Clinic held at Monnington Morgans was very educational and great fun. The weather was beautiful all week.

During the daytimes, the youth had riding lessons and in hand showmanship provided expertly by Caroline Lockhart, driving lessons with Barbara and Mel and badge work with Hilary and Christina Robinson. Meals were organised by Gina and Clare. Other activities included lessons on horse nutrition, long lining, boots and bandages, vaulting and a talent competition.

In the evenings the youth enjoyed numerous activities, including rounders, sack racing, karaoke, exercises including back to back wrestling, round the brush competition, horseless horse show.

The week culminated in a great show on Friday organised by Amy Harris and judged by Angela Conner Bulmer.

See lots of pictures of the week and reports from the girls at Landside below. If you would like me to publish your report of the Youth Clinic here, please email me at timkins@blueyonder.co.uk

Charlotte Andrews:
My Youth Clinic Report:

Last week was the summer youth clinic, it was the first time I’d gone to one
and I had an amazing time. I made new friends and met some great people.
First of all I would like to thank Caroline Lockhart for teaching me many
things and for her time and patience in the lessons.
The food was made by Gina and Clare who did a fantastic job and we were all
fed well throughout the week thanks to them.
The youth clinic could not have gone ahead without Hilary and Christina who
I also learned many things each day from them in badgework, nutrition and
long-lining lessons.
The driving, boots and bandages lesson and talent show was possible with the
help from Mel and Barb – so thank you to them for all their time and
efforts.
Tim and Elie were the entertainers in the evening for all the youth and they
did a marvellous job as everyone had great fun and took part in all the
activities – karaoke, sack races, rounders, kempo lessons and more. My
favourite was the horseless horse show!
Finally a big thank you to Angela, John and Trudy for letting us use
Monnington to have the youth clinic held at and for allowing us all to have
a brilliant time.

Summer Clinic 2006

The youth summer camp this year was exceptionally good. There were lots of familiar faces and fantastic people to share the excitement of the week with. The lessons were immense and very useful, much enjoyed by everyone and a lot was learnt. Thank you very much Caroline Lockhart for her time and patience with everyone and her understanding for each of us. The evening entertainment every night was organised by Tim, Elie, Gina and Clare a big thank you to all of them as the entertainment was brilliant and consisted of sack races, running round the broom races, Karaoke and exercises, which all of the youth took part in. The food was also excellent we had a great meal every time; this was prepared by Gina and Clare, thank you very much! The youth clinic would not have gone ahead without Hilary and Christina so another big thank you to them, Mel and Barb also made the youth clinic a more fun place to be thanks for all their help and use of their horses, they were great. And finally a big thank you to John and Angela Bulmer for allowing us to use Monnington once again for the youth summer clinic, also thank you to Trudy for helping with our driving lessons and the evening entertainment.
