Landside is busy at this time helping to develop The Walter Project, in memory of Walter James.
For those who knew him, besides his veterinary work and his Morgan horses, gardening was Walter's passion.
For the project, Landside has leased Walter's garden to the social services for children and adults with learning disabilities to enable them to gain knowledge and expertise in growing their own vegetables and flowers in order for them to gain confidence, and for some, a future career. Also, as a place for everyone to make new friends so that all can benefit from the opportunity to socialise and connect with others for a sense of purpose and achievement.
They will be able to grow the food, cook it, and learn about healthy eating.
In the near future, the Walter Project will have its own website with progress reports, photos and its own blog.
The project will be environmentally friendly using solar enery, wind turbines, and of course, horse manure from the finest Morgan horses around!
These images show the land as it is currently - until the new website is live, watch this space to see the progress and transformation...
