Three Counties - 2nd June 2007

We set off to Three Counties Showground on the Friday night - we were all really excited about the show but I think we were more excited about the pool party we were due to have on the Saturday night at Monnington's new pool. On the way down, about two hours into the journey we decided to prank call some of our friends which was absolutely hilarious because it was so random!

When we finally arrived at the show ground and unloaded the horses who settled very quickly into their stables, we went to find something to eat. Louisa, Charlotte and I decided we weren't really that hungry after eating a Burger King and a Marks & Spencer’s pasta bowl on the way down. So we went to look at the young farmers, I mean the cows, pigs and goats. There were some scarily big cows and Charlotte made friends with a pig which was surprisingly cute.

After this we were on the way back to the truck and a lady with a big mare and foal were struggling to find stables so Tim was acting as the good Samaritan and went to help. After about ten minutes the rest of us got bored and eventually they found a stable and placed about ten bails of straw into it and put their horses in. Then we finally made it back to the truck and all sat around and had a laugh and then went to bed. In the morning about four different alarm clocks went off at half 5 to wake us up, so we got up and got ready and began to prepare the horses for the show. After an hour and half into preparing the horses Clare, Louisa, Bryn and Tim went to get themselves ready to begin showing them off.

Although Clare had forget her pants (Oops!) she borrowed Louisa’s to ride and they actually looked pretty good, until she revealed her bright blue socks to the world whilst riding, but first to make the appearance in the show ground was BFM Elijah, how good was he? Young colt, been shown only twice before, looking absolutely stunning, he took to the ring as though he’d been a performer all his life! For a colt, Elijah behaved in such a perfect manner and still had the capability to show off and came 2nd. Next in the ring was Aspire who once again showed her fantastic Morgan spirit whilst entering the show ring and came 2nd. Then a quick change for Aspire as her driving class was next, she also performed beautifully in this class yet again. Last of the horses we took to show was Marty, and he was turned out superbly, even though Clare had forget her pants! Marty performed in his class like a truly perfect pleasure horse and came 1st, he did so very well against some tough competition. He also went back into the performance championship.

After the show had finished it was about 11 o clock so we all went for a wonder around all the shops and for some food as we were starving! So we got some chips and then charlotte and I bought some doughnuts and they were the best doughnuts ever!! Then we went for another walk around and saw a big bouncy castle assault course thing and we really wanted to go on it but the army men wouldn’t let because it was wet...which it wasn’t! But they gave us some stir fry instead.

Then we went to meet back up with the rest of the gang and went in this big food tasting place which was really good, but when I tried to get some curry to “taste” the woman snatched it off my and told us to go away, which was actually funny! Then we tasted some really nice cheese too.

So after this we had some ice cream and made our way back over to the truck carrying all the tack and equipment and taking the horse’s aswell we loaded them up and off we went to Monnington. We were all really looking forward to going to Monnington because we were having a pool party to celebrate Liam finishing his treatment!

When we arrived at monnington we prepared all the food and carried it over to the pool and had a lovely buffet prepared by Trudy, Gina and Clare and Liam who prepared the salad, which was really tasty!

After we had eaten Charlotte, Louisa, Amy and I went to get changed into our swimming stuff, but when we were ready we noticed nobody else was and Charlotte noticed Wilfred was around. Surprisingly enough Charlotte wouldn’t leave the changing rooms but Amy bravely did and Louisa and I just stayed with Charlotte. Next thing, Wilfred walks into the changing room to drag us out, we were all so shocked and screaming and laughing, but luckily him and Trudy grabbed Louisa first, so me and Charlotte tried to hide, (I don’t know exactly where we was trying to hide!) but then Louisa grabbed me to,

Well suddenly I ended up in the pool and was swimming around like I had no friends because no-one else was in, but then Liam came running over and dived into the pool, which shocked Gina because she didn’t know whether he could swim that well in deeper water, but he could. Then Louisa and Charlotte joined us and shortly after so did everybody else! We began to play Marco Polo which was funny because Charlotte was just going  round with her eyes open when she was supposed to have them closed and Wilfred was on first and when he shouted “Marco!” only about two of us shouted “Polo!” back and me and Louisa just ducked under the water! Then we played another game of swimming races and also who could get on the dolphin and swim to the other end of the pool! All in all the night was fantastic thank you so very much to Angela and John for allowing us to use their pool, it is an amazing pool! And thank you to Trudy, Gina and Clare for preparing all the food for us! The night was immense and we all had such a good time!
